I am a lifelong resident of Michigan. I graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1980 and began work for the predecessor to this law firm. I have concentrated my practice on business law matters throughout my career. I consider myself a business law generalist. I regularly work with small to medium sized businesses (which I define as having annual sales from $1.00 to $50 million) on most legal matters that they will face during their business lives. I regularly help clients with business formation documents and with a variety of legal matters that arise out of business operations, including forming and capitalizing business entities, contract negotiation, drafting and enforcement, real estate, employment, purchase and sale of businesses and business finance.
I represent clients in most industries where small businesses exist, including health care, manufacturing, software development and information technology, real estate development and finance, research and development, non-profit enterprises, retail, restaurant and service businesses.
I am proud of the fact that my peers in the legal profession have given me an AV rating under the Martindale-Hubble rating system and that I have been part of a law firm that has had an AV rating for more than 20 years.
